A note from the founder.
For a long time, I acquired the way most of us do. Caught up in the wanting. The moment, the trend, the thrill of something new. Always the next thing, without fully appreciating what was already there.
At some point I swung the other way completely. I sold most of my bags. I told myself it was pretentious to care so much about objects. I told myself I was above it.
But I've always been drawn to old things. History, craftsmanship, the old world. And slowly I realized I hadn't stopped loving beautiful things. I just needed to come back to them differently.
Not to consume. To appreciate.
I still buy new. I'm just more deliberate about it now. Vintage and pre-loved is part of that same shift toward more intention and less impulse. But there's something about a piece that was made when the houses were smaller, the ateliers more intimate, the craft more personal. The durability, the materials, the attention. It's different.
Vintage and pre-loved is also my answer to a contradiction I think a lot of us live with. We want beautiful things and that's human. But we're also aware of what overconsumption costs. Buying pre-loved isn't a compromise. It's the more considered path. You still get the piece that speaks to you. You just don't add to the excess.
If you're here, something has already shifted in you too.
Maybe it was a quiet thought. A pause before the next purchase, a question you hadn't asked before. Maybe it was the slow realization that accumulation was no longer enough. Whatever brought you here, I want to acknowledge it. That spark of awareness, however small, is the beginning of something. A reflection of inner wisdom that, once cultivated, extends into every part of how you live.
That's what The Beverford Edit is. It's me reclaiming something I love and sharing my taste with you. Every piece we carry is something I chose myself. Vintage and archival, from heritage houses that built things to last. Not because everyone has one. Because it deserves to be found again.
At The Beverford Edit, I offer a small, considered selection of vintage and archival luxury handbags from heritage houses. Each piece chosen by eye, for its craft, its provenance, its endurance. For the feeling that it was always meant to find the right person.
I hope something here speaks to you. Something you will carry not just on your arm, but forward into your life, with intention, and with love.
